Real Estate & Government
Cindy is involved in the broad practice of the Real Estate and Government Law team. She advises clients on various aspects related to real estate, general government law, and environmental law. Cindy handles matters including tenancy law, enforcement cases, construction law, and zoning and environmental plans. As of February 2025, Cindy will strengthen the Real Estate and Government Law section at De Clercq.
Cindy is an intelligent, dedicated, and pragmatic lawyer who gets to the heart of a matter to achieve a suitable solution for her clients. She is a true go-getter with a passion for her work and her clients. Cindy possesses a high degree of perseverance, which benefits her clients in handling legal matters; she advocates for her clients without losing sight of the essence of the case.
Cindy studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she also obtained her two master's degrees in Constitutional and Administrative Law and Private Law.
Her thesis, "Broken Negotiations in Real Estate Transactions by Legal Entities with Government Tasks within the Framework of the Bibob Act," was rated as an outstanding thesis and published in the Nederlands Juristenblad (NJB).
Cindy worked for nearly 2.5 years at a small law firm, where she practiced general law. She dealt with real estate-related matters, such as the termination of an indefinite lease agreement for a 290-business space, as well as advising and applying for permission to impose conservatory attachment on real estate and filing bankruptcy applications for third parties (companies).
Cindy has also gained work experience in various legal roles across different fields. The skills she has developed were primarily honed at government agencies such as the Tax Authority, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Province of Flevoland, the court, and as an independent legal consultant.
Within the Real Estate and Government Law section, Cindy is dedicated to focusing on real estate law and government law.
