Jessica van der Geest believes in the importance of taking a personal approach to clients, and providing fast, accurate information and advice. She is passionate about her field of work and about helping her clients. After moving to beautiful Friesland in 2008, she continues to enjoy her work as part of our team.

Education and career

While Jessica has worked as a notary clerk at De Clercq since 2005, she actually commenced her notarial career 14 years previously as a secretary in a notary’s office. She eventually came to specialise in property registration, and went on to obtain her certificate of competence as a Notary Clerk from SOMN (Foundation for the Training of Employees in the Notarial Profession) in 2001. She may now use the title of Registered Notary Clerk, which is reserved for clerks who satisfy the necessary continuing education requirements. In 2016, Jessica also successfully completed the Corporate Law module at INM (Continuing Education Institute for Notarial and Legal Clerks).

Jessica’s daily practice

‘Previously, my focus was on property registrations. These days, however, I’m mainly involved in the varied and interesting field of corporate law. I deal with cases such as the incorporation of legal entities, the modification of articles of association (including capital reduction), share transfers, mergers, demergers, and corporate restructures. This may seem dull to some, but I love it!’
