The world of work is constantly changing. Organizations grow, merge, downsize, or relocate — and sometimes, a reorganization is unavoidable. In such situations, the Works Council (OR) plays a crucial role. But what exactly does that involve?

During an interactive Knowledge & Networking Session at Leiden Bio Science Park, our colleagues Jaouad Seghrouchni and Thomas Catersels will guide participants through the key legal aspects of reorganizations involving redundancies.

Topics include:

  • What should the Works Council pay attention to during a reorganization?
  • Is there a prescribed order of dismissal in cases of redundancy?
  • Are severance payments mandatory?
  • And when is a social plan required?

In addition, Jaouad and Thomas will share practical insights and discuss new legislation relevant to Works Councils in the coming year.
