Since January 1, 2025, the Tax Authority has been more actively enforcing against false self-employment. This means that checks are being carried out to ensure that people working as freelancers for a client are genuinely self-employed and not actually employees. This can also have implications under labor law.

For example, an employee typically enjoys protection against dismissal and is entitled to wages during illness. Furthermore, an employee is usually entitled to holiday pay, paid vacation days, and in many cases, certain pension benefits.

During the webinar, I will address the following questions:

  • How do you distinguish a freelancer from an employee?
  • How do you prevent a freelancer from being classified as falsely self-employed or from being considered an employee?
  • What are the labor law risks?
  • And how can you prevent these risks or at least minimize the chances of them occurring?
