In this section, we introduce a colleague to you every month. This month it’s Liban Hadi’s turn, Legal Assistant within the Employment, Employee Participation & Mediation team. Curious about his story and what drives him? Read on quickly!

Introduction

Can you briefly introduce yourself and tell us something about your career as a lawyer?

My name is Liban Hadi, I am 25 years old and live in Amsterdam. During my Master’s in Employment Law at the University of Amsterdam, I got acquainted with various law firms. Since June 2025, I have been working as a legal assistant at De Clercq. In March 2026, I hope to start the professional training program.

Background and expertise

What are your areas of specialization? Why should clients call on you as a lawyer?

I work in the Employment & Employee Participation section, where I deal with both employment law and employee participation law. My daily practice is very diverse: from settlement agreements to changes in employment conditions, and from consent rights of the works council to issues surrounding bogus self-employment.

De Clercq Lawyers

What distinguishes De Clercq Lawyers from other law firms?

Binnen De Clercq heerst een laagdrempelige sfeer. Collega’s zijn zeer toegankelijk en ieders deur staat altijd open. Daarnaast zet De Clercq zich als B Corp-kantoor actief in voor maatschappelijke impact.

Advice for clients

What is the most important advice you would give to clients seeking legal assistance?

Clients do well to seek legal assistance as early as possible in the process. Preferably, we support from the outset so that we can determine the right strategy from the beginning.

Vision for the future

How do you see the future of the legal sector, especially within your area of specialization?

I expect that the use of AI will occur more often, mainly as support for work rather than as a replacement for lawyers. In addition, I think employers will increasingly ask questions about the use of AI, for example in its application in recruitment and selection.

Personal interests

What do you enjoy doing outside of work to relax?

In my free time, I enjoy watching (political) debates and I work out a few times a week. I also really enjoy a good thriller drama series.

Closing

What do you like most about your work as a lawyer at De Clercq Lawyers?

What struck me most is that from the very first day I was given a lot of responsibility and was involved in ongoing cases.
